Community-based group exercise practice in Parkinson disease (PD) improves function

Published in NeuroRehabilitation, 03/12/2013  Dr. Combs SA et al from Krannert School of Physical Therapy, University of Indianapolis, Indianapolis, IN, USA compare traditional group exercise practice to group boxing practice in a Community-based Parkinson disease (PD) group of patients. The exercise dose was 24-36 sessions of  90 minutes duration over 12 weeks. The outcomes looked at were balance, balance confidence, mobility, gait velocity, gait endurance, and quality of life. Both groups demonstrated significant improvements in these functional outcome measures.
