Is Parkinsonism PD affected by socioeconomic factors

Published in Parkinsonism & Related Disorders, 03/06/2013 Dr. Caslake and his team from Division of Applied Medicine, University of Aberdeen, Scotland, United Kingdom look at specific incidence rates for parkinsonism and PD in north-east Scotland and relate this incidence to age, gender and socioeconomic factors. The group found that the PD incidence was 17.9 per 100,000. PD was more common in men with an age-adjusted male to female ratio of 1.87:1. PD was not affected by socioeconomic status.
