Rehabilitation Exercise Therapy for a Variety of Reasons

Over a period of time, injured muscles can shorten, go into spasm, become scarred or tender, they can put stress on various joints and can irritate nerves, which can result in a variety of pains. The  muscles that are thus injured  also can slowly decrease their function and then will have to rely on adjacent muscles to replace functions in the affected areas.

One should engage in the correct exercise program in order to focus on restoring the normal function of injured muscles by gently stretching them in order to relieve spasms, to break down scar tissue, and then to rebuild their strength.

Basically, rehabilitation works to optimize  physical and emotional functionality,  so one can perform his usual tasks and activities without nagging and constant  discomfort.

When one engages in active rehabilitation it strives to correct the situation with  postural and biomechanical education. Exercises increase range of motion, strengthen muscles,  and help maintain a correct posture. Exercises also improve cardiovascular  fitness, decrease mental stress, boost energy levels,  and improve a sense of self-esteem and well-being.

One of the most efficient systems recently created for exercise rehabilitation is the TUTOR system. Consisting of the HANDTUTOR, ARMTUTOR, LEGTUTOR and 3DTUTOR these physical therapy products are comfortable ergonomically designed gloves and braces that are placed strategically on  different limbs. They contain sensors that connect to dedicated software in the form of therapeutic games. These games allow for the patient to use his own (non robotic) strength to  exercise the affected limb. Physical therapists then record and evaluate the results and customize a specific exercise program for that patient. This physical therapy solution is also useful for patients who suffered a stroke, brain/spinal cord injury or have a limb movement limiting disease.

The TUTORs are currently in use in leading U.S. and European hospital and clinics and can be used at home through telerehabilitation. The TUTORs are vailable for ages 5 through adult and are fully certified by the FDA and CE.
