Writing in Journal of Spinal Cord Medicine Dr. Chi Chung and his team investigate functional outcomes for Chinese people with Spinal cord injuries SCI across a 1 year period post injury. The team from the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and the Occupational Therapy Department, Tai Po Hospital, Tai Po, NT, Hong Kong, China investigate the community reintegration, treatment outcomes and re engagement in a productive life role e.g employment 1 year after discharge. Despite functional status improvement measured by treatment outcomes including Activities of daily living, Quality of life and functional independence measure (FIM) the group found few people with traumatic SCI were re-engaged in productive life role 1 year after discharge.
